DIII Baseball and the MLB Draft

Nearly 150 DIII players have been drafted since 2010

Baseball is a unique sport in which the professional levels of the game include thousands of players all part of one big system. The Major League Baseball Minor League system opens the door for a much larger pool of players to enter the ranks of pro ball players each year.

The amateur draft that takes place each summer offers an opportunity for over 600 players to realize their dream, actually down from years past where it was more than double that number. Because of the sheer size of the draft, unlike any other professional league in the United States, MLB scouts criss cross the country constantly visiting colleges and universities to uncover talent, including DIII schools.
